Company description Here is what our divers say about diving in Madang:
*Molly Beckman
``I`m happy I had the chance to dive in Madang. I went with my parents to live there for a few years and some of my spare time was dedicated to diving. I love diving - it is a way to see the world at a new perspective and a different angle. Diving in Papua New Guinea is like diving in waters that have not been touched by mankind. I have seen many types of marine life that I only dreamed about before. I`ve had encounters with sharks, rays, turtles, giant clams, octopus, and just about any type of fish imaginable. It sure is an experience that one will and can never forget. The life under the water is unbelievable. The way of life and the organisms that live there can be observed in their natural habitat. It is almost like walking through the rain forest, but it has not yet been destroyed. It is something spectacular. I loved diving in Madang - each time it was a new adventure and a chance to learn new things.``
*Tasha Gustafson
``I learned to SCUBA dive while in Papua New Guinea in 1997. I can honestly say that it has been one of the greatest adventures of my life! Seeing pictures of this spectacular underwater world is great, but existing in it, even for just a short while, was a thousand times better. Having learned to dive in the waters of Madang, I am forever spoiled. I`ve gone diving since then in the US, but nothing compares.``
*Tanya Jessup
``I have been living in Madang for 2 years. I`m currently employed as a kept woman & so am forced to dive a lot to be able to brag heaps to friends in cooler climates. Why do I like to dive here, apart from the tropical climate? Because there`s heaps to see & find out about - big/little, common/uncommon, plain/flashy, mobile/sedentary, dead/alive!``
*Nigel Jessup
``I`ve been living and working in Madang for two years now. It has certainly been an experience compared to life back in Tasmania where I originally come from. For the most part it is a very pleasant place to live. The diving is certainly one of the best attractions Madang has to offer.``
*Jan Messersmith
``Madang has been our home since 1981. About 95% of all my dives have been within 20 minutes by boat from our house on the harbor. It has been a great privilege to live in a beautiful place with so many great dives sites, and to have years of weekends to explore them thoroughly. For me, one of the great joys of diving has become a familiarity with specific small habitats. ``
*Claudia Spitzl
``There are a lot of dive sites around Madang - reefs, passages, walls falling straight down, but especially some spectacular wrecks. Sometimes I think, even if we would go to the same spot every week, I wouldn`t get bored - there is just too much to see. Some of the most fascinating stuff I have seen are a school of hammerheads, turtles, a group of manta rays floating down from the surface, huge schools of barracudas circling us, and the most colorful coral you can imagine. I am just looking forward to every dive…
