Company description Jeff and Janine Le Strange have been living and working in the Kingdom of Tonga for almost 20 years. Jeff as Manager of a local manufacturing business in Nuku`alofa with Janine by his side assisting in the office.
They decided to have a lifestyle change with Jeff doing what he loves most - fishing. And built Hakula lodge and MV Hakula and moved to Vava`u in 1999. With Jeff`s knowledge and love of Fishing and Janine backing him up with administration, taking care of bookings and activities with a bit of cooking thrown in they make a formidable team.

There is safe swimming and snorkeling right off our pontoon, with small coral reefs either side. We can also plan for you a full day to visit more exotic locations (boat rate to be negotiated).
Snorkeling gear is included in room rates.
For the serious diver, directly in front and in the center of the harbour lies the wreck of the 122 metre ``Clan McWilliam``. A dive can be arranged with either of the four resident dive operators.

We have a 7 seat mini bus for free airport transfers and day tours. Allow one day to visit local attractions. Reserves, beaches, village`s vanilla plantation, bush walks and downtown shopping and souvenirs.

Whale Watching
In the months of July to October, Pods of Humpback whales, Sperm whales, Pilot whales and dolphins come through Tongan waters. We will not have to go out of our way on an average days fishing to see these magnificent creatures up close.
