Location description:
On this isolated group of islands, the flora and fauna, adapting to diverse conditions, evolved into species found nowhere else in the world. Their uniqueness, and especially the variations from island to island, can be clearly witnessed, making Darwin`s Theory obvious even to the amateur.
Today, the islands are still nature`s laboratory of evolution where the animals lack of fear rewards the visitor with a feeling of being part of nature itself.
To keep Galapagos in as natural a state as possible, the Ecuadorian Government in 1959 declared the Archipelago a National Park. The Charles Darwin Research Station was inaugurated five years later. Today, the National Park Service supervises and strictly controls all activities within the Galapagos National Park.
M/Y Reina Silvia, accommodates her guests in eight double cabins, all furnished with oversized upper and lower beds, WC, shower, washbasin and vanity. On charter cruises, the owner`s cabin (king-size bed) on the upper deck is also available in which case two of the regular cabins may be used for single occupancy.
The yacht is fully air-conditioned and features up-to-date security, navigational and communications equipment, including satellite telephony. From the well-equipped galley an excellent cuisine is offered in the spacious dining room.
