8 Jul 2008: Akshay Kumar's recently underwater stunt almost cost him his life, when the actor accidentally injured himself at a depth of about 75 ft. He was shooting in the Bahamas for 'Blue'- an action adventure set underwater that also stars Sanjay Dutt and Lara Dutta - near a real shipwreck that involved him indulging in underwater action with almost 35 sharks around. Although Akshay is a certified deep sea-diver, but the stunt went wrong when Akshay hit his head against the shipwreck and started bleeding. However, it was the cast and crew's timely intervention that the actor was saved at the nick of time. …
8 Jul 2008: Travis County authorities said the man who drowned in Lake Travis this weekend has been identified as 41-year old Thomas David Dornak. Divers recovered his body near Devil's Cove. Witnesses said he was with friends on the lake and their boat's anchor got stuck on something. The man jumped in the water to free the anchor and never surfaced. …

6 Jul 2008: A scuba diver from Mount Pleasant likely died of a condition that can occur when divers rise too quickly. Forty-five-year-old Tim Edwards died Friday while spearfishing off Charleston. Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal told The Post and Courier of Charleston that an autopsy performed Saturday showed the avid scuba diver likely died of an air or gas embolism.
