Ormskirk diver can become a millionaire after discovering historic shipwreck

Joe McCormack, 68 years old diver and his team believe they have found a ship with treasures which was sent to help Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1476.

29 years ago Joe McCormak was teaching his sons to dive off Anlesey coast when a tiny copper disc was uncovered. His son Kevin left it in drawer and only years later it was sent to National Museum of Scotland for examination. It was proved to be a priceless artefact, the ring seal of Mary Queen of Scots worn at her execution.

Joe with his son Kevin have now launched 5 year project to bring one of the most remarkable shipwrecks in British history to the surface.

“If this is right we are talking about billions of pounds,” Joe said. He also added that every member of the diving team will be a millionaire after the wreck is surfaced.

Joe is planning to donate the ring seal to the Culloden museum.

"It belongs to the Scottish people, it is their history”, he said.
