Statesville youngster was injured in diving accident in Stoneville, Mississippi
18-year-old Zachary Alexander Routh was seriously injured while diving into shallow water on Old Anglin Loop in Stoneville.
During the dive he struck his head against a stone, suffering from a possible spinal cord injury and hear laceration. Youngster was airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. This part of river was restricted area but Zachary Alexander with nine other people ignored the sign.
Sam Page, Rockingham County Sheriff encourages people to only use the public access areas where swimming is allowed.
