Parents sue scuba diving school for daughter's death

Kaving Coyne and Julie Simonds, the parents of a young woman who passed away three days after scuba diving incident in July 2007 filed a lawsuit against Craig Gillespie, the owner of Seattle Scuba Diving School.

Parents believe that their daughter's death was caused by Gillespie's negligence.

Jennifer Coyne was a novice diver who started to visit scuba dive lessons in Seattle Scuba School 2 months before her death.

According to the lawsuit, on the fatal dive, Gillespie paired her with another novice diver and failed to maintain the rental scuba diving equipment. So when she lost consciousness her buddy was not able to provide rescue assistance. She was eventually pulled up by Gillespie and taken by a Coast Guard rescue team to St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham where she died three days later.
