Two companies could be pleaded guilty in diver death case

Two companies admitted failings in the run up to a commercial diver's death at Upper Lode Lock near Tewkesbury back in 2004.

29-year-old David Moore died when he was carrying out a maintenance work at the site. He was crushed by a torrent of water following the collapse of a faulty dam.

He worked at the site on behalf of Sea Technical Services (STS), which had been hired by British Waterways. It's director Christopher Drake allowed David to dive failing to properly assess the risks.

The investigation continues and sentences will be passed at Gloucester Crown Court on a date to be set.
