Brother of the dead diver warned others about silt danger at Whitsand Bay, Plymouth, UK

Back in 2007, David White, 43 and Kaye Moss, 43 drowned during a dive at Whitsand Bay, Plymouth, where the shipwreck forms an artificial reef.

The inquest heard that this happened because Ministry of Defence carries out silt dumping at Whitsand Bay.  It  was stirred up when divers penetrated the vessel and lead to their disorientation. However, divers had entered the wreck without a fixed line so they were unable to find their way out. David and Kayne died after running out of air.

Speaking after the hearing, David's brother Simon warned other divers of the hazard posed by silt in the wreck. He wants others to be more careful and reflect on the dangers of entering enclosed areas.

Both divers were parents: David White was a married father of three and a company MD. Kayne Moss had two sons and worked as a teacher in school.
