Famous diver dies during a dive near Atlantic City, USA

Famous diver D. Terzuoli known as Captain Zero died last Saturday about 53 miles east Atlantic City during solo dive to a wreck.

He was known as a giant in the scuba diving world - very experienced man who logged over 3,500 dives, many of them to the wrecks around the world.

His death is being investigated, but New Jersey State Police think Terzuoli may have become tangled in wires and couldn't get out of the wreck.

Terzuoli died while exploring a wreckage of the Texel - a Dutch ship that was torpedoed by U-boat in 1918.

Diver who was staying on the boat said he understood something was wrong when the bubbles stopped coming up to the surface of the ocean.

Tersuoli had wife and son. He also raised his nephew.

The family and diving community describe him as the most generous man they'd ever come across.
