British diver missing after exploring shipwreck in the English Channel
Yesterday a British diver was missing after a dive to the wreck called Empire Javelin that sunk during WW2 in December 1944.
The local rescue centre received a call at 12.20 pm yesterday from the dive boat saying there was an overdue diver. The sunken landing ship is situated 21 nautical miles from Barfleur on the Normandy Coast so the French and English rescue teams work together to find the missing man.
Two British search aeroplanes and a French customs helicopter along with five vessels sent by the French Navy and France National Sea Rescue Society were trying to find the body but they had no luck yesterday.
The search is being continued today.
